First Annual Edwards Motors Car and Truck Show

Moultrie, GA (October 7, 2006)

The jinx of cloudy days in Moultrie ended on this glorious day. It was slightly cool in the morning, and remained sunny all day. Wayne Edwards put out the red carpet for us and the vehicles in the show. Edwards Motors also brought the most beautiful crystal vase trophy for the "Dealer's Choice" award. Thank you, Wayne, for allowing us to do your show. It was a nice visible spot, and it was a broad parking lot display. It felt good to start back up for the fall season, and we were impressed with the showing of great cars and trucks. The Boy Scout Troupe 410 was on hand to serve up great eats all day. Although a local troupe in Moultrie, they originate from Tallahassee, FL. There was quite a flow of people in and out all day, and we really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Edwards Motors handed out numerous door prizes all day to all of the participants. We were invited back for next year, so keep your calendar open for the first weekend in October next year!

We honored the Boy Scouts a participation trophy for a job well done. The workers for the day included Pamela Rogers, Michelle Louque, Trey Meyer, Ollie Rogers, Colin Hopkins and Michael Hopkins. John Duke and Bob Jessie won our Gas Hog awards along with a $10 bill. John Rice Jr. won a trophy for his cool Schwinn bike, and Kyle Hamilton won the Best Kid award for his fast running Camaro radio remote car. Pretty Levie Walsh won the crown for Miss Confetti and baby sister Macey won her first "Cry Baby" award. (Actually she was very good all day!). One of our daughters was a Zeta Tau Alpha at Florida State, and we had the opportunity to meet Katharine Faircloth from Georgia State. She was admiring the show very much, and wanted to stop by to get a closer look.

Our next stop is our fifth appearance at the Harvest Festival in Donalsonville, GA. This is one of our favorites. We hand out candy and beads at the parade, and just love all the activities of the day. Hope you drop by for some cotton candy or just listen to the music all day and view all the great cars, trucks and motorcycles that enter each year. This show is when we introduce you to the Streetrodder of the Year, so be on hand for that, too! See you there!
