Moultrie Car Show

Moultrie, GA (October 9, 2004)

Saturday, October 9th, 2004 brought Confetti's to Downtown Moultrie, Georgia. This was sponsored by the Downtown Moultrie Merchants Association, with Amy Johnson at the helm. For a first show, Moultrie sure knew how to welcome everyone. With 101 vehicles strong and the rain holding out, it was an incredible show of both the old and the new cars and trucks.
The City of Moultrie was extremely organized, and showed all the participants the red carpet. They recruited volunteers from the Phi Beta Lambda Business Club, and we were amazed at their enthusiasm. Angela Hardin, president, Inez Taylor, vice-president, and Mary Ann Hahn, historian, seemed to have endless energy. Thanks for everything! Matthew Flannigan, from Boyscout Troop 410, and Antelmo Tyson, from Cubscout Pack 410 were at hand to make sure we all had our fill of cookies.
The backdrop of the Courthouse and the vehicles surrounding it made for an awesome sight. The local restaurants kept the tummies full and the antique and other local shops kept the rest of us busy shopping and browsing. We were happy to include a Spectator's Choice Award and a 50/50 drawing that helped a local business woman's dream of winning the war on cancer alive. Please call Sharon Herndon at 229-985-8090 and ask her to send you a "Lemon-Aid" Clown. We were proud of all who donated over $400 to the cause. Thanks to everyone who helped, especially Curtis King. He was the winner of that trophy with 210 votes. (Confetti's and Lemon-Aid think you are pretty special.)
We also want to thank Kenn "Elvis" Blankenship for giving the town a wonderful revival at their bandstand area. The crowd really loved the show, and both Confetti's AND "Elvis" will be returning next year for another successful repeat performance in Moultrie.
Our signature Miss Confetti and Best Kid Awards went out to a brother and sister team of Meagan and Drake Dormincy, and a special award went to the youngest volunteer went out to Miss Ally Johnson. Confetti's will be honoring Downtown Donalsonville next weekend for our THIRD Annual Harvest Festival Car and Truck Show. So please join us, enter in their parade, visit their downtown, shops, music, arts and crafts. We always have fun wherever we go! We want again thank the Merchants of Moultrie (and Especially Mike Fuches) for being so generous to everyone, and see you next year!
