This was CSN's and the Thomasville Police Department's fourth year in doing the car and truck show, and the second year that Confetti's have been a part of it. We really LOVE doing this car show for so many reasons. The best one though, is Capt. Ellis Jackson, Chief of Police of Thomasville, who is the most wonderful person to work with. He makes our job easier, and his eagerness to have a great show becomes contagious. The sponsors not only gave out dash plaques, but included T-shirts AND goodie bags. Confetti's supplied the department with honorary police badges to hand out to the kids which Capt. Ellis did on the Confetti courtesy cart. I think he was having as much fun as all the kids were! The weather was gorgeous, the town was gracious, and the streets were filled with spectators and 146 of the finest top notch vehicles around. The city has a week long venue to celebrate their well earned title of "City of Roses." Besides the vast display of every rose under the sun, there were so many other activities, such as a parade, Shanana concert, an organized run/walk and of course, our car show.
The shops and their owners are fantastic hosts to the participants and the tremedous amount of spectators that were around all day. In the past, the comments were that the wives especially love Thomasville, because they get to shop while the men talk engines and cars! We at Confetti's particularly enjoyed "Little Rascals " Tallahassee Streetrodders. They seemed to have a relaxed and fun afternoon. Thanks all! (And on a personal note: Dave, you looked GREAT!). If you are a Mustang lover, we also had an incredible choice of Mustangs at this show. It was tough judging on that crew! Confetti's also honored Parks Weaver for his plaque for being third place in Streetrodder of the Year. Parks has been a bit under the weather, but was strong enough to not only bring two of his trucks, but to display his newest "hot rod" motorized wheelchair, which he earned the Hot Wheels trophy. It is his dedication and love of the sport that keeps us alive! Pretty Emily Dixon won the Miss Confetti honor, and Durant Fullington was our Best Kid winner. We also handed out little rubber duckies fully equipped with a police hat and badge to all the kids at the end of the show. We were invited back for next year, so hopefully we will be blessed with the same incredible weather and have even a bigger show than these past two years! Looking forward to seeing you at our Fourth Annual Wallace Chevrolet show next weekend in Albany, Georgia!
