Albany, GA (June 19, 2004)
Wallace Cheverolet in Albany, Georgia was the host for
our summer car and truck show this past June 19th, 2004. Although it was a hot
one, we were pleased to see such a big showing for this day. If you didn't make
it to this show, you missed some incredibly beautiful vehicles. Millions of dollars
of top-notch classic beauties graced the lot. Wallace Chevrolet was a gracious
host, allowing all of the participants to cool off in their spacious building
and providing television and comfy chairs for lounging. The radio station B-100
did a live broadcast all afternoon promoting both new cars and our show. They
had many give-aways, such as free pizza from Ce-Ce's, cold drinks, CD's, and other
gifts. Thanks so much for providing the goodies! The Shriners were also there,
providing hot dogs, chips and chili for the hungry crowd. The Shriners were there
at our first show at Wallace, so it was great to be able to support them again.
To top off the great show, WALB television station from Albany, GA was on hand
to film and interview many of our car owners and participants. Lastly, Confetti's
wants to thank Buddy Cower for a successful day at Wallace Chevrolet. We were
invited back for next year, but with promises of an earlier date for cooler weather!
Although it was a car show, some of the activities of the
day were more oriented to the "family" atmosphere that Confetti's takes
pride in. Darla and Bobby Gilmer provided an enormous cake to honor all the dads
that were attending in respect of Father's Day. That was very sweet of them, and
we are honored to call them our friends. It was also good to see David Duke back
again. He was feeling a bit under the weather, but he seemed to be his usual lovable
self again. And speaking of family, we want to acknowledge the Parks family for
infusing the love of classic cars on to their daughter Allison. Glad to see new
generations coming aboard! On a personal note, both Bob and I were touched beyond
words for all of your loving and giving support that you gave our son, Michael,
as you presented him with his personalized Bible and USA tee-shirts as his send
off into the Army. We also want to thank you for your prayers for our daughter
Dorothy during her tour of duty in Iraq. It is your thoughtful actions like this
that keep our faith strong. We hope to keep providing you with quality shows to
attend and allow us to share our family with yours.
