Wallace Chevrolet
Third Annual Car and Truck Show

Albany, GA (May 7, 2005)

Celebrating their 55th year in business, Wallace Chevrolet hosted their Third Annual Car and Truck Show with us. Mother's Day took on a special meaning on this beautiful sunny day, with general manager Buddy Carver handing out a special Mother's Day gift to all the special women in our lives. As with each year, the participants grow, and we had a wonderful turnout of over 72 vehicles. The Artesian Car Club won the Club Participation trophy with 14 registered cars present. Radio station B-100 Country entertained everyone all morning and WALB Channel 10 Newscaster Jennifer Emert was on hand not only to interview many of our participants, but also to express her enthusiasm of the beautiful vehicles on the lot. There was a rare treat to see not one, but two 1970 identical Superbirds at the same show. Lan Skalla and Harold Jackson are the proud owners of these rare cars, with only 1925 made in production.

Bob and I were touched to see so many families working together to prepare their cars, trucks and bikes for judging. We especially enjoyed all the hard working moms who “shined” their hearts out. (See pictures below!). David Duke, a special friend to Confetti's has shared his love of trucks with his brother John Duke. At Wallace Chevrolet, friend Geneva Rouse, sister Virginia Dixon and niece Maggie Ross also joined the brothers in our Mother's Day celebration. Captain Ellis Jackson, Chief of Police of Thomasville, GA, and his lovely wife stopped by to share in the activities of the day. As usual, we honored our favorite participants (the kids) with fuzzy dice…but the ages of our “kids” grew as our “big kids” also stood in line for the booty! Pretty Ariel King won the Miss Confetti Award, and cute Kylar Melvin won the Best Kid Award. It was nice to see Jimmy Braxton again, so he won our special Hot Wheels award. Lisa Weaver walked away with the Trump Award. Make sure you stop by next week in Donalsonville, where Bill Cramer Chevrolet is hosting its’ Fifth Car and Truck Show. Bikes are also welcome, so come on by May 14th. There will be t-shirts, live entertainment, concessions and lots more!
